Personalized Christmas - Decorations and Gifts

Christmas time, a time that I remember more than any other family holidays. Christmas memories are more important in my mind than the family vacations we had. I guess the reason Christmas is so personal and memorable is because it represents love, selflessness, and giving of yourself, a time of carrying on traditions. This is a time when everyone gathers, with hearts full of excitement. The children running around anticipating the great surprises from Santa that will magically appear before them on Christmas morning. Counting down the days, thinking Christmas day will never come. Christmas is a time when "new" traditions begin. A new baby in your home, you want to make this Christmas something that you will always remember and cherish. You want your baby to know that he or she is the greatest gift you have. A personalized Christmas is when you start traditions in your home. You will capture that moment and turn it into a cherished memory that can be shared with everyone. There are some great traditions providing memories for those who receive your personalized Christmas gifts. When was the last time you received a truly personal gift from someone at Christmas time? How did you feel? Did you realize the giver had thought of you enough to make is truly personal, wishing you joy from their heart. These gifts given by you, will be received in the same way, with a heart that is softened and love felt by the giver. You can show how important others are to you by personalizing Christmas cards. It is one thing to receive a Christmas card, you enjoy it through the holidays, and afterwards, never really notice it again or even toss it away. But never have I thrown away a personalized Christmas card. They go in my memory book, knowing that this is something that I will treasure. If you have a new baby in your home, a wonderful tradition that I have is to give a personalized Christmas ornament for my baby's first Christmas. I have carried that tradition on since, giving every child a personalized ornament each and every Christmas. They love to look at the ornaments while memories flood their mind of each Christmas. They will start doing the "remember this year?" referring to the date on their ornament. Another great tradition some families have is going to friends and families homes singing Christmas Carols and always leaving a special personalized gift, a gift that will represent our love for them, and something they will always cherish for years to come. I think most children whose family celebrate Christmas love to have a stocking to hang up for Santa Claus. To use personalized Christmas stockings is a wonderful idea, with a new one each year becoming keepsakes that can be carried from childhood into adulthood. This may not seem like such a big deal to your right now, especially if you have not had one, but think about this for your children. I know of those who still do this day, and have kept their tattered Christmas stocking from 30 plus years ago. The mother of that family was making a tradition that would hopefully carry down through her our own children to their children. Having a personalized Christmas is having a Christmas etched into your heart and mind. There will always be those personal gifts that will stand out, giving you that warm feeling, making this one a very "Special Christmas". What kind of traditions do you want to have? What ideas are going through your head that can turn this Christmas into one they will talk about and remember forever. What old traditions did you have growing up that made an impact on you? How can you bring those back? Sending out personalized Christmas cards and hanging some personalized ball ornaments on the Christmas tree are just two more of very many ways to make the holiday a personal one not just for you, but for friends and family too. Put some thought into this Christmas, and make it be a personalized Christmas gift to yourself. It is through your giving from your heart, that will bring you the most joy. Giving of yourself is the greatest gift of all. Merry Christmas.
